Things to Remember

  • There are very good symptomatic treatments
  • You are unique. Your medication plan will be different from other people with Parkinson’s disease
  • Take Parkinson’s meds with food or a light snack with 4-6 oz. liquid. Try to avoid eating protein at the same time
  • Symptoms can be made worse by stress and anxiety. Support is available to help you manage the stresses in your life
  • Studies have shown that approximately 50% of people with Parkinson’s disease do not take their medications as prescribed and this can have a big impact on the way they function on a day-to-day basis
  • To make it easier for you to manage your medication, you may want to use a pill alarm (epill.com) or your pharmacist can package your pills for daily use
