Medication
Things to Remember:
There are very good symptomatic treatments
You are unique. Your medication plan will be different from other people with Parkinson’s disease
Take Parkinson’s meds with food or a light snack with 4-6 oz. liquid. Try to avoid eating protein at the same time
Symptoms can be made worse by stress and anxiety. Support is available to help you manage the stresses in your life
Studies have shown that approximately 50% of people with Parkinson’s disease do not take their medications as prescribed and this can have a big impact on the way they function on a day-to-day basis
To make it easier for you to manage your medication, you may want to use a pill alarm (epill.com) or your pharmacist can package your pills for daily use
Botulinum Toxin Injections
For those patients receiving botulinum toxin, you will need to go to the University Pharmacy to make arrangements for payment at your first visit. The address of the pharmacy is 5754 University Boulevard, which is an approximate 5-minute walk from the clinic.
If you have questions regarding insurance coverage for botulinum toxin, please contact the pharmacist at 604-224-3202 to try to answer any questions you might have.
